New Zenapolæ Release - esion.2

Cover Art for esion.2 I've release a new track @ Zenapolæ today. It's called esion.2, a sequel of sorts to the first esion track I created a few years ago, in collaboration with Todd Christopher (aka Instruction Shuttle). Back then we both contributed a 15 minute track that was included in a 30 minute tape cassette release at a now defunct label called IFTWAKT. As with the original esion, I crafted a 15 minute track of mostly improvisational noodling in Abelton Live. The wandering melody you will hear in esion.2 was originally crafted by Guinevere Campbell (aka Datadrift) and through various effects processes morphed into something slightly different (as with all the sounds and noises you may hear). Click through to the Zenapolæ website to download the mp3. Enjoy! :D

zenCast 10 (June 9th, 2010)

zenCast 10 Cover ArtI've uploaded a new zenCast Podcast to the Zenapolæ site tonight. zenCast 10 is an hour (or so) long mix of some of my favorite Zenapolæ tracks. You can download the podcast directly from the Zenapolæ site, subscribe to the feed via iTunes, the Feedburner feed, or you could use the direct feed link for whatever podcast application you may wish use.

Enjoy! :D

Dub Acid Tests

A collection of my experimentations into a mix of dub and acid techno. I'll be updating this page with new files as I create them. Enjoy

A Quick Tribal Ambient Mix

Here's a quick Tribal Ambient mix that I put together tonight to test out some new software called DJay. Read more for the track list and links to additional file formats. Enjoy!

New OVe Release - Brutalist @ Zenapolae

Todd Christopher (aka Instruction Shuttle) and I have release our third collaborative project together under the pseudonym OVe, entitled Brutalist. It is available via the release page at the Zenapolæ website. The music for Brutalist was crafted using bits from my previous project Pre-Process. While the underlying tone of Brutalist takes much from Pre-Process it is whole a work in it's own rights. Enjoy! :D

ZP007 - Sunday Afternoon Sunshine

Inspired by the Blip Festival a couple of weeks ago I created a neat little chip tune"album" I am calling Sunday AFternoon Sunshine. I don't quite have an 8-bit set-up just yet (I pulling my old Atari STf buddy out of the garage for some much needed love), I cheated a little bit by using Reason (I'm getting into the spirit) with a little help from a tutorial (@ Steelberry Clones) I found by Judson “Tettix” Cowan. After watching the first video of the tutorial I was able to set up a few instruments that exhibited an 8-bit sound. After dabbling with the sounds for a little bit, I set out to create a track before rushing off to work an hour and a half later. I am hoping to get a few more mixes together as well as some additional tracks in the near future. Until then enjoy! :D

ZP006 - Minimal Stomp & Pound (w/Acid) @ bitphitz.org

Minimal Stomp & Pound Cover Art)

I've uploaded a second hour long set to the bitphitz.org website which I am calling Minimal Stomp & Pound (w/Acid). This set is another attempt at minimal techno and acid but this time without any distracting vocal samples. ;) I think I like this set much better then the previous one, One Hour Now but I was having some issues with some of the instrument levels. I also need to invest in a audio file editor like Bias' Peak as there are a few tweaks I would have like to make to the audio and I just wasn't in the mood to go through a lengthy process of dragging the file into Logic or Live to do a job that these apps were not designed to do easily.

Anyway, enjoy the set and, as always, let me know what you think. :D

ZP005 - One Hour Now @ bitphitz.org

One Hour Now Cover Art

I've been working on my studio this past week. As a result, I spent a couple of hours setting up Reason with my Axiom 25 and Trigger Finger (x2) as a virtual acid workstation. The result was One Hour Now; one hour (almost) of trippy acid house and techno sounds. I've uploaded them to my bitphitz.org website, which I'm going to be converting to a DIY electronic dance music website kind of thing. I'm not sure of all the details just yet, but it's going to be something along the lines of hour long "live" sets of electronic dance music.

Enjoy! :D

ZP004 - Bad Acid
