Blip Festival 2009

Last Thursday Tim and I drove up to Brooklyn for the annual Blip Festival. It was a total blast. Neither the photos to follow nor any downloaded recordings of the event can convey the awesome energy of the music presented that nigh. Regardless, I wanted to share some glimpses of that night with these photos (taken with my iPhone).

This is Chromix. Armed only with some handheld device and a lot of enthusiasm, Chromix rocked the house with his classic nintendo-esque sound.

Minus Baby crafting his uplifting "ID(C)M". While the earlier sets were great in their own right, this is where the vibe for the evening really began to take off. The visuals of this set

Towards the end of the evening, Je Deviens DJ En 3 Jours crafted a set reminiscent of old school acid techno. It was during this set that I jumped into the crowd and danced with an almost religious fanatisism. Mostly everyone in the house was jumping up and down to the beat with such energy that it brought back fond (and sweaty) memories of younger days dancing all night long. :D
Finally, while I don't have any pictures to share of it, the set by Eat Rabbit was "Fucking Sublime", which I think I screamed out at one point. Towards the end of his set, the rest of the artists ran out on stange and lifed him up on their shoulders in triumph, knocking down his gear table in the process (but they could not stop the music!).
You can see all of my photos of the event on my MobileMe Gallery. For some great video of Thursday nights lineup, also check out ByteJacker for their offerings (via YouTube).
